Homelessness Response System Data

HSH and our City partners publish several reports related to homeless services and San Francisco’s response to homelessness.

HSH Data Reports

HSH produces regular data reports about the Homelessness Response System’s services. HSH’s data reports include documentation with information about the data sources, key terms, and other data notes.

Demographic information for households at the various stages of the Coordinated Entry housing process.
Emergency Housing Voucher ReportingReferrals, move-ins, and demographics for the Emergency Housing Voucher program.
Homelessness Response System Monthly Report
Information on the number of people served through HSH’s outreach, Coordinated Entry, problem solving and housing programs.
Housing InventoryHSH housing broken out by program type and household type.
Permanent Supportive Housing VacanciesMonthly data on vacant units in HSH’s site-based permanent supportive housing portfolio.
Shelter and Crisis Interventions: Inventory and OccupancyCount of sites, total guests, capacity, and occupancy broken out by program type.
Citywide Relocation Assistance DashboardMonthly data on people served through the City’s relocation assistance programs.

Report Name & LinkDescription
Housing Inventory CountsEvery year, HSH provides a Housing Inventory Count (HIC) to the federal government.

The HIC reports tally the number of beds and units available on the night designated for the count by program type. The HIC includes shelter beds dedicated to serve people who are experiencing homelessness, as well as beds of permanent supportive housing and rapid re-housing. 
2022 Point-in-Time CountAccess information from the 2022 Point-in-Time Count.

Reports from previous years are also available.
Healthy Streets Data and InformationGet information about the estimated population of people experiencing homelessness in tents, vehicles, and encampments, as well as the results of operations to address encampments.
Our City, Our Home ReportsAccess dashboards showing budget, spending actuals, and encumbrances for Prop C funding by service area.

COVID-19 Alternative Shelter ProgramLearn about new homeless shelters and Shelter-in-Place Hotels opened during the pandemic.
